Hi hello

    Hi and welcome! My name is Tara and I'm a 20 year old student living in Leeds.

Starting a beauty blog is something I've wanted to do for quite a long time. I've had an interest in make up for years which began with the purchase of a bright purple urban decay eyeshadow and blue glitter eyeliner (which I still have hah). I then discovered youtube tutorials and would spend ages watching them, trying (and failing) to recreate the looks and put my own spin on them. From there I discovered beauty blogs. I loved reading other's opinions on things and seeing their swatches, especially products that I wasn't sure were worth my money.

Obviously I have a passion for make up and I love talking about make up and the new products I've bought but few of my friends share this interest so I try not to bore them with it. I've always enjoyed writing and so naturally I wanted to make a blog of my own. However, I've never had the confidence to do so until now. I'm a pretty self conscious person so I was too scared of what others would think of me. Particularly my friends/people I know. Clearly I'm no expert, and I don't claim to be, but my worry was that people I know would see my blog, laugh and think "What the hell is she on about? Why is she pretending she's some kind of make up artist?". It was my amazing boyfriend who convinced me to just suck it up and start this in the end!

    I want to make it clear from the start that I am in no way a make up professional. I'm under no illusions and know I'm not exactly the best at applying it but that's not the point. I enjoy experimenting and I'm constantly trying new things, it takes a lot for me to settle with one type of foundation, mascara etc and stick to it. I don't have any intentions of becoming a makeup artist or anything like that. I just want to use this blog as a platform to talk about products I've tried, wish lists, my holy grails and show swatches - because who doesn't love a good set of swatches?

    I'll mainly be focusing on cheaper products since I'm a student so I'm on a pretty low budget! However, there may be the occasional splurge on a higher end item like MAC or Urban decay, because their eyeshadows are my biggest weakness!

I'm honest and I'm not going to pretend I love something if I think it's crap just because everyone else is raving on about it. Hopefully whoever reads this (if anyone) will find it useful and it will help you decide if that product you've been eyeing up is really worth your hard earned cash!
